About Viking

Emil Tyden, Viking's founder, made the first Viking sprinklers in 1920. Today, under the ownership and direction of Mr. Tyden's direct descendants, the Viking Corporation is a recognized world leader in the fire protection industry.

Viking's growth has been fueled by a continuous commitment to product quality and new product innovation. Viking's commitment to quality and world class manufacturing status is evident in that Viking was among the first sprinkler manufacturers to receive ISO9001 certification from the Loss Prevention Certification Board and the Verband der Schadenversicherer. To maintain such rigid quality standards, Viking has always manufactured its own products. To develop new products, Viking first gathers input from its worldwide distribution network and a staff of field-trained engineers. Then, each new product is thoroughly tested in Viking's research and testing laboratory.

After passing Viking's internal tests, new products are approved and listed by international approval agencies - such as Underwriters Laboratories and Factory Mutual of the USA and Canada, The Loss Prevention Certification Board of the United Kingdom, Verband der Schadenversicherer e.V. of Germany, Kentei of Japan, and other authorities worldwide.

Viking's belief in quality and innovation is equaled by its belief in customer support. To ensure that customers can get the products they need when they need them. Viking has continually expanded its distribution network. Today, the company has manufacturing, sales, and distribution facilities in the United States and Europe, as well as sales and distribution facilities in Singapore and Hong Kong. In total, Viking is represented in over 50 countries worldwide through its network of company-owned and independent representatives.

Viking knows that customer support doesn't begin and end with product availability. It includes a technical assistance program that is considered to be the industry's finest. A major element of this program is the Viking Technical Seminar — an intensive, two-day training session that gives installers, consulting engineers, architects, and private corporations hands-on experience they can use to produce better specifications and installations.

Viking's mission is to offer innovative products of the finest quality and to support those products with an extensive distribution network and complete commitment to the highest level of technical assistance.
